Traffic Engineering Expert On Galveston “Flyover”

Traffic JamAlleviating traffic congestion and reducing the number of wrecks where the Interstate 45 frontage road meets 61st Street in Galveston could be a flyover similar to one at NASA Road 1.  The price tag, estimated at $8 million, might make the solution cost prohibitive, traffic engineering expert Dan Lynch, of Houston’s Traffic Engineers said.

The expert has 40 years of experience designing everything from signals to freeways. The flyover is part of the city’s plan, and officials are working to find funding to make the route safer, smoother and less congested.
