Tax Dispute Expert Witnesses

Tax dispute expert witnesses may consult on tax audits, tax laws, and tax returns.  Coca-Cola was in the news this week, having been notified by the IRS that the company owes $3.3 billion in federal taxes, plus interest, for 2007 to 2009.

Transfer pricing may be at issue.  Taxjustice.net considers transfer pricing “one of the most important issues in international tax. Transfer pricing happens whenever two companies that are part of the same multinational group trade with each other.” While the U.S. corporate income-tax rate is 39%, the rate in other countries is significantly lower.  This may result in shifting reportable income away from the U.S.

Coca-Cola plans to pursue “all administrative and judicial remedies necessary to resolve the matter.”
