A medical expert testified in the workplace asbestos case in which Troy Lofton was awarded $15.2 million. Lofton claimed lung injuries from a product containing inhalable asbestos. CPChem appealed the verdict and now the Mississippi Supreme Court has ordered a new trial. The state high court believes the trial judge was mistaken in how evidence was heard.

Biddeford High School Committee members have decided to follow a consultant’s recommendation for further air quality testing at Biddeford High School (ME). The work will focus on contamination concerns related to an ongoing $34 million building renovation, the building’s ventilation system, mold and moisture management, and cleaning practices. A former Alton, IL, man on trial this week in the traffic deaths of a Granite City man and his young son would have had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent at the time of the crash, an expert testified Tuesday.
