Pollution expert witnesses may write reports and testify on hazardous waste management, chemical and refinery processes, environmental project management, air pollution control, and hazardous waste management. On February 24, 2014, Waco, TX, Federal District Judge Walter S. Smith, Jr. ruled that the Sierra Club failed to prove the Big Brown Power Plant in Freestone County violated the Clean Air Act. The environmental group’s expert witness testified that the plant’s control devices are too small to handle the amount of emissions and alleges the company has known that since 1997.
