Pharmacology Expert Witness In Zoloft MDL Case

Pfizer, Inc. has agreed to hand over emails between the drug maker’s pharmacology expert witness in the Zoloft MDL case. Dr. Stephen E. Kimmel wrote that one of the two independent studies which purportedly showed Zoloft increases the risk of heart defects in newborns contained incorrect data.  Dr. Kimmel is Director of Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the Penn Cardiovascular Institute.

Pfizer, Inc. is an American multinational pharmaceutical corporation headquartered in New York City, NY, with research headquarters in Groton, CT.

U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, has moved the Daubert hearing forward to September. In June, the MDL had over 500 cases.
