Fire Expert On Global Fires

Fire expert Max Moritz, UC Berkeley Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management professor published a report on global fire risks in June.  Moritz described factors which have contributed to extensive fires in 2012, including below average snowfall and pine beetles that kill trees and make them excellent fuel.  Approximately 2.4 million acres have burned in the US so far this year.
