Expert Witness Testimony & Confrontation Clause

In Williams v. Illinois,  the US Supreme Court is considering whether Mr. William’s rights were violated under the Confrontation Clause. At issue is whether the prosecution has to produce the experts who produced DNA analyses, or only the expert who reviewed them both and made the match.  In this case, Sandra Lambatos testified that Mr. Williams’ DNA matched a DNA profile that, according to assertions made by analysts from a Cellmark lab, was the genetic description of the purported offender.  The defense argues that testimony is required from the lab analyst.
