Civil Engineering Expert Testifies On Coal Ash Disaster

Civil engineering expert Dr. Bruce A. Tschantz testified September 21st on the Kingston coal ash spill which released 5.4M cubic yards of coal ash into the Emory River and across the surrounding countryside in 2008.

While TVA President and CEO Tom Kilgore admitted no blame on the part of the federal utility for the environmental disaster, Tschantz said the inspection TVA did on the coal fly ash holding cells at the fossil plant was severely lacking.
