Breast Augmentation and Reduction Procedures

Breast surgery, augmentation or reduction procedures, are very commonly performed to address the particular needs of the patients. Different techniques and modalities are available to the practitioner to successfully accomplish the desired goal. Appropriate patient selection is often the key to a successful outcome. Complications abound in breast surgery, particularly in reconstructive procedures, and surgical results may not be ideal but realistic in lieu of the underlying problem. Experts are often called to analyze and evaluate these cases for potential deviations from the standard of care concerning indications, surgical procedures, post-surgical management, complications and results. Initial evaluation of the case by the expert will include the available pertinent medical records and pre and post operative photographs. Often a physical examination will follow to fully and appropriately evaluate the situation before rendering an opinion. Many of these cases are complex, with either multiple surgeries or multiple issues, and require experienced review.
